Quoted before the tanker leaves the yard
How Much Does a Drainage Tanker Cost in Sharjah?
Nobody publishes a price list for this work, and there is a real reason for that. Here is what the number is actually made of.

The short answer
A drainage tanker in Sharjah is priced per job, not per hour, and the figure comes down to five things: how many 5,000-gallon loads your tank needs, how far the tanker has to run hose to reach it, where you are relative to our yard in Muwaileh, whether you need it now or can take a planned slot, and whether the job is an emptying or a proper clean. We confirm the price on the phone before the tanker leaves, and quoting costs nothing.
The reason no drainage company in Sharjah puts a price list on its website is not secrecy — it is that a single figure would be wrong for most of the people reading it. A villa tank cleared in one load and a labour camp needing five are the same service with very different costs, and a company that advertises the low number and discovers the high one on site has not been honest with you, it has just delayed the conversation. We would rather have it at the start.
How to pay less for the same work
Four of these are within your control, and between them they make more difference over a year than shopping around on the per-visit price.
- Move to a fixed interval instead of calling when it is nearly over. A planned visit is cheaper than an emergency one and there are fewer of them — see scheduled collection.
- Have the tank cleaned properly rather than only pumped. A tank at its real capacity needs collecting less often than one silting up.
- Clear the access before we arrive: move the car off the cover, unlock the gate, know where the cover is. A wasted visit is the most expensive thing that can happen.
- Book non-urgent work for a time that suits us both rather than the worst hour of the night.
- Tell us the tank size and access honestly on the phone. A quote given on good information is a quote that holds.
What actually decides the price
These are the five, in roughly the order they matter. If you can answer the first two on the phone, the quote you get will be the price you pay.
How many tanker loads
This is the biggest single factor. One 5,000-gallon load clears most villa tanks. A building holding tank is commonly one to two. A labour camp tank is regularly several. A flooded basement is open-ended until it is dry.
Access and hose run
A tank the tanker can park beside costs less than one at the end of a long hose run across a garden, down a basement ramp or from the next street. Access is also the most common reason a visit has to be repeated, which is the expensive outcome.
Where you are
We run out of Muwaileh, so Muwaileh, University City and the districts around them are the shortest runs. The far side of the emirate, the industrial areas and SAIF Zone are longer. It is a modest part of the price, not the main one.
When you need it
A planned slot at a time that suits both of us costs less than an emergency at two in the morning, because an emergency means turning a vehicle away from something else. If it can wait until morning, say so and it will usually be cheaper.
Emptying or cleaning
Pumping a tank out is quicker than emptying it and then cleaning the interior down. The clean costs more on the day and less over the years, because a tank that is only ever pumped loses usable capacity and needs collecting more and more often.
The part of the cost that is not ours
Every load a licensed tanker takes off your property has to be discharged at a Sharjah Municipality facility, and that discharge is itself charged. Sharjah Municipality lists the sewerage tanker discharge facility fee at AED 60, deducted automatically through the RFID system as the tanker enters the plant, and the vehicle has to hold a sewage tanker discharge permit to enter at all. The facility runs in two shifts rather than around the clock.
That fee sits behind every legitimate quote you will be given in Sharjah, ours included, and it is a useful thing to know when you are comparing prices. A quote materially below what the work plus the discharge can cost is a quote from someone who is not intending to discharge it properly. Where a load ends up is not a detail — see our compliance record and ask any contractor for the discharge receipt.
What we will not do
We will not quote a figure on the phone and hand you a different one on site. If something on arrival genuinely changes the job — the tank is twice the size you thought, or it needs three loads instead of one — the crew will tell you before they start and you can decide. That is the whole of it. Getting a price costs nothing and does not commit you to anything.
Compliance
Every load leaves licensed — and lands legally
Illegal discharge is the risk sitting behind every tanker hire in the UAE, and it is the customer who gets asked about it. Here is exactly what happens to your waste after our tanker pulls away.
Discharged at the municipality treatment plant
Every load we collect is discharged at the Sharjah Municipality sewage treatment plant in Al Sajaa. Nothing goes into storm drains, open ground or anywhere else.
Permitted tankers, licensed drivers
Our tankers carry Sharjah Municipality wastewater transport permits, and every vehicle is driven by an appropriately licensed heavy-vehicle driver.
Discharge receipt on request
Ask and we will hand over the discharge receipt from the treatment station — the proof facility managers and main contractors need for their own compliance files.
Third-party liability insured
The work is covered by third-party liability insurance, so your building or site is protected if anything goes wrong on the job.

Questions about price
- How much does a sewage tanker cost in Sharjah?
- It depends mostly on how many 5,000-gallon loads your tank needs and how easily a tanker can reach it. Rather than quote you a figure that would be wrong for most properties, we will give you a real one on the phone — call +971 54 246 3788 with a rough tank size and your area, and you will have a price in the same call. Quoting is free.
- Do you charge for a quote or a site visit?
- No. Telling you what the job costs is not something you should pay for. Almost every quote we give is settled on the phone from the tank size, the location and the access, and you are under no obligation after it.
- Is an emergency call-out more expensive?
- It can be, because an emergency means diverting a vehicle from something else, often at an hour when nothing else is running. We will tell you the price before the tanker leaves either way. If the job can honestly wait until the morning, say so and we will usually be able to do it for less.
- Is a scheduled contract cheaper than calling each time?
- Per visit it is comparable. Over a year it almost always costs less, because the visits are planned ones instead of emergency call-outs after an overflow, and because a tank kept within its working range does not need collecting as often. See scheduled collection.
- What is the AED 60 fee I have heard about?
- That is Sharjah Municipality’s charge for discharging a tanker load at its sewerage tanker discharge facility, deducted through the RFID system as the vehicle enters. It applies to the tanker, not to you directly, but it sits behind every properly disposed load in the emirate and is part of why a legitimate quote cannot be arbitrarily low.
- Do you charge extra for distance?
- Distance is part of the quote, but it is a modest part. We are based in Muwaileh and cover the whole emirate, so the difference between a job in University City and one in SAIF Zone is smaller than the difference between a one-load tank and a four-load one.
- How do I compare quotes fairly?
- Ask each company three things: how many loads they are quoting for, whether the price includes cleaning the tank or only emptying it, and whether they will provide the municipality discharge receipt. Quotes that differ wildly are usually answering different questions, and the cheapest one is sometimes not disposing of the load properly.
